An Enoch community
Living in The Fields.
A neighborhood built on what used to be open farmland on the east side of Enoch, where the lots are bigger than you expect at this price point and I-15 is close enough to hear but far enough you forget about it. Cedar City is ten minutes south, and the Three Peaks trails are about eight minutes the other way.
I am Scott Buehler. I have spent 20+ years in Iron County, and this page is the honest version of what The Fields offers, what it costs, and what you trade for the space.

Current listings
Homes for sale in The Fields.
No active listings today. The Fields grew out of old farmland in the mid 2000s and its owners rarely rotate out, so an empty listings feed here is business as usual. Fresh MLS activity for this neighborhood posts to this page without delay. Prefer to hunt on your own? Open the map search or start from the homepage.

Life in The Fields
What a day here feels like.
Morning starts flat and bright. The Fields was farmland before it was a subdivision, so the ground is level and the sky opens up in every direction. Sun hits the Markagunt Plateau first to the east, then rolls across the valley into your living room. You hear the faint rumble of I-15 about a mile away, but it settles into the background the way crickets do after an hour outside.
Midday runs along SR-130. You are three minutes from the freeway and ten minutes from a full grocery trip. The daily rhythm is straightforward: errands in Cedar City, then back north to Enoch where the pace slows down and the streets are quiet enough for kids to ride bikes without anyone worrying about traffic.
Evening is the payoff. The western sky puts on a show over Three Peaks, and because the lots are generous, you are not sharing your sunset with a neighbor three feet away. The train horn sounds faintly from the east a couple miles over, and that is about it for noise.
Neighborhood highlights
The highlight reel, all within minutes.
Enoch City Park
About four minutes away on Midvalley Road. Open green space, playground, picnic pavilions, and the Enoch Recreation Complex with ball fields right next door.
Three Peaks Recreation Area
About eight minutes northwest. BLM-managed OHV trails, rock crawling, hiking paths, and dispersed camping. The full story is in the trails section below.
Big lots, open feel
This is not a zero-lot-line subdivision. Quarter-acre to half-acre lots mean room between houses, space for a garden or a shop, and a driveway that handles more than two cars without a puzzle.
Fast freeway access
I-15 at Exit 62 is about three minutes east. St. George in under an hour, Provo in about two and a half, and no surface-street crawl to get started.
Homes & lots
Former farmland, now home.
The Fields was platted in the mid 2000s on what had been open agricultural ground. That history shows up in the lot sizes: these are quarter-acre to half-acre parcels, not the tight postage stamps you find in some of the newer Cedar City subdivisions. The streets are wide, the setbacks are generous, and the neighborhood has the easy, spread-out feel of a place that was never in a hurry.
Home styles lean toward ramblers and two-story single-family builds, with some craftsman-influenced exteriors mixed into the newer phases. Many properties include a shop, an RV pad, or a detached garage. Finished basements are common but not universal, so if square footage matters for your plans, check each listing closely.
The Fields trades close-in density for elbow room. That is the whole proposition.
One thing to know: the eastern edge of the neighborhood sits close enough to I-15 that you hear it. Inside the house it is a non-issue. Outside, on a still morning, the highway hum is there. Most residents stop noticing it within a week, but if absolute silence is your standard, pick a lot on the western side of the plat.
Trails & outdoors
Three Peaks, eight minutes out.
The Three Peaks Recreation Area is the outdoor anchor for anyone on the Enoch side of the valley. It is about eight minutes northwest of The Fields, and it delivers the kind of terrain that brings OHV owners, rock crawlers, and hikers out year-round. BLM-managed, no gates, no fees, just miles of marked trails winding through volcanic outcroppings and high-desert scrub.
OHV & rock crawling
The area is best known for its rock crawling routes, from beginner ledges to technical lines. Miles of marked OHV trails connect the three peaks across BLM land.
Hiking & camping
Hiking trails wind through the formations, and dispersed camping is allowed throughout. No hookups, no reservations, just open public land.
Year-round access
The lower elevation keeps Three Peaks accessible when Cedar Canyon is snowed in. Fall and spring are the sweet spots; summer is hot and dusty but still rideable early in the day.
Trail facts: BLM, Three Peaks Recreation Area pages. The wider outdoor picture, Cedar Canyon and Brian Head included, is in the Enoch guide.
Errands & drive times
Errands, measured in minutes.
This is the practical answer to "how far is everything from The Fields." The short version: groceries and dining are ten to fifteen minutes south in Cedar City, and I-15 is three minutes east for the longer hauls.
| The errand | Where it happens | From The Fields |
|---|---|---|
| Full grocery run | Lin's Marketplace, Providence Center Drive | ~10 min |
| Second grocery option | Smith's, Main Street, Cedar City | ~12 min |

| Movie night | Megaplex screens at Providence Center | ~12 min |
| Healthcare | Cedar City Hospital, north Main | ~15 min |

Farther out, living near Exit 62 means the drive south starts on the freeway: Brian Head's ski runs are about 45 minutes, St. George about 50, and Zion roughly an hour. The full day-trip map lives in the Enoch guide.
Schools & education
Schools, by the facts.
The Fields is served by the Iron County School District. Enoch Elementary is about five minutes west on Midvalley Road. Secondary schools are in Cedar City: Canyon View Middle School and Canyon View High School are roughly ten to twelve minutes south. Which specific schools serve a given address can change as the district adjusts boundaries, so confirm the current assignment directly with the district for any home you are serious about. For independent school information, GreatSchools and Niche both publish data you can weigh for yourself. Southern Utah University is about twelve minutes away.
I cover the bigger education picture, including SUU, in the Enoch guide.
What locals know
Notes from the east side.
No listing photo tells you this part. After more than 20 years in Southern Utah, here is what I would tell a friend about The Fields.
-
The freeway hum becomes white noise. The eastern edge sits close to I-15. On a still morning you hear it outside; indoors it disappears. After a week you stop noticing it entirely.
-
The dirt remembers the farm. This was agricultural ground before it was a subdivision, and the soil is richer than the rocky hillsides. Gardens grow here, trees take, and if you want a lawn without fighting the ground, you found the right spot.
-
Water shares are the quiet dealbreaker. Secondary irrigation water is its own conversation on every lot out here. If you plan on a big garden or a green lawn, ask about the water share before you commit. The answer changes everything.
-
Enoch city, not Cedar City. You pay Enoch property tax, deal with Enoch Water Works, and call Enoch Police. The services are smaller and closer. If you are comparing across the city line, check both sides.

Buying in The Fields
The Fields sits on the east side of Enoch, close to the I-15 corridor. It is about three minutes from Exit 62 and roughly ten minutes from the center of Cedar City along the Minersville Highway (SR-130) corridor.
The Fields was built out through the mid 2000s on land that was once agricultural. You mostly see single-family homes on quarter-acre to half-acre lots, with ramblers, two-story builds, and some homes with craftsman-influenced exteriors. Lot sizes are generous for the price point, and many properties have room for a shop or RV parking.
From The Fields to the center of Cedar City is about ten minutes south on SR-130. Southern Utah University and the Main Street corridor are roughly twelve minutes. I-15 at Exit 62 is about three minutes, so the longer trips south to St. George or north to Provo start fast.
Recent sales in The Fields have generally run from the mid $400,000s to the low $600,000s, with pricing driven by square footage, lot size, and whether a shop or finished basement is included. Prices move, so treat that as a starting point and check the live listings.

Selling in The Fields
Values here move with lot size and improvements like a shop or finished basement more than a formula can capture. Start with the home valuation page and I will run an honest comparison against recent sales in The Fields, no obligation.
List with me and your home is featured across MovingUtah, on this page, on the Enoch hub, and in the featured listings buyers browse on this site. The get featured page walks through exactly how that works.
Enoch inventory tends to run thin, and a home with a good lot and a shop or extra garage space draws attention. Tell me your timeline and I will give you a straight read based on what is actually moving right now.
Yes, and it is common here. Timing the two is mostly a sequencing problem, and I cover the playbook in the buy and sell at once guide. Because I am dual-licensed, I can keep the sale, the search, and the financing on one desk.

Recent sales in The Fields have run from the mid $400,000s to the low $600,000s, driven by square footage, lot size, and whether a shop or finished basement is included, so pricing should lean on real comps here rather than a broad average.
