Want the mountains close by? Find your view.

Some Utah towns sit right up in the mountains. Others sit in a green valley with the mountains close by. Use it to see both, and how far each one is from a ski resort.

How the mountain match works.

The view question has four choices. This page starts with two of them: right up in the mountains, and a green valley with mountains close by. You can change them.

The page also starts with Ski resorts picked under What do you want close by. A town scores best when a resort is near, and the score falls as the drive gets longer. Views and skiing each count double what a question like snow or heat does.

The card shows the nearest ski resort and the drive to it. When a terrain park is closer than that resort, the card shows the park too. Towns up high often get more snow, so check the snow line on each card.

With the starting answers, when two towns fit the same, the one closer to a ski resort comes first.

Add what else matters.

Ski towns can be a long way from a job. Add a drive to work if you need one. You can also say how much snow you can live with, since higher towns get more.

Before you fall for a town.
