Part 1 of 3

Where Under $700K sits

The local read, the median line and the pricing tiers

The local read

Under $700K is the upper-middle of the Taylorsville market

In shortBy U.S. Census ACS 2020-2024 figures, a typical Taylorsville home is worth near $433,800, so under $700K sits well above the middle. At this price the grid holds most kinds of home in the city, so sort it by place: builder townhomes, the Bangerter edge or Bennion. The grid is ordered from the top price down and fed live from the MLS.

Taylorsville publishes no neighborhood map, so I split the city into five areas from east to west. Two of them lead here. With this much room, it helps to pick an area first.

Two areas stand out here. The Bangerter edge runs from 3200 West to the highway, and Bennion in the southwest is the highest ground, at about 4,450 to 4,600 feet. Both sit on the west side of the city. Bennion is near 6200 South and 3200 West.

Location changes the daily routine more than the floor plan does. Near the Bangerter interchanges the highway is close. In Bennion, the college and the river are on the far side of town. Picture your week before you choose.

Comparing pages? The under $600K page is where remodels and two-story homes come first, and the over $700K page is where custom builds and big lots begin. Tell me your must-haves, and a partner agent can say which one to shop. The Taylorsville guide tells the story of the whole city.

Stretch math

One step up

over $700K is where custom builds, large additions and river side homes sit. It asks for more money and a closer look at each home.

One step down

under $600K is where remodeled ramblers and two-story homes come first. Choose it if a finished remodel matters more than a part of town.

Either way

Your must-haves choose the page, and a partner agent will confirm it once you send them over.

Part 2 of 3

What the money buys

What the money buys, hold, stretch, or step down and the towns next door

What the money buys

Under $700K comes in three shapes

This page splits into three groups: builder townhomes, homes on the Bangerter edge and homes in Bennion. Pick one and the grid is easier to read.

Townhomes from builders

Newer homes in Taylorsville are mostly townhomes on cleared or leftover land. Taylor Villas by Edge Homes is listed at 6200 South and Bangerter Highway, and a larger community, Solstice at 54th, is planned at 5400 South.

What you give: a shared wall, plus project rules (CC&Rs) that you should read first. What you get: a newer build than most of the city.

Homes on the Bangerter edge

The Bangerter edge runs from 3200 West to the highway, between about 4700 and 6200 South. Southridge Park sits here, and interchanges serve 4700, 5400 and 6200 South. Kearns lies across the highway.

What you give: you are on the city's edge, so check the city and school. What you get: highway interchanges close by and a park nearby.

Homes in Bennion

Bennion is the southwest corner and the city's highest ground. Bennion Junior High, Labrum Park and Summit Park sit here, near 6200 South and 3200 West. It is a direction with history, not a line on a map.

What you give: an edge address may be in Kearns or West Jordan, so check the city. What you get: the highest ground in the city, where the county map rates liquefaction low.

Today's homes may lean toward one of the three places. The Homes for Sale page shows which.

Part 3 of 3

Choosing a place under $700K

A four-step play

A four-step play

How to buy in the upper-middle market

At this budget you can choose a place as well as a home. These steps help you decide where to look first.

  1. Pick the part of town first

Taylorsville runs from the Jordan River on the east to Bangerter Highway on the west, and the ground rises about 370 feet. The Bangerter edge is by the highway interchanges and Bennion is the southwest high ground. The river side and Redwood Road sit east, near the college and the trail.

  2. Check the city and the school

Ask which city and school the exact address belongs to.

  3. Read the project details

For a townhome, ask what the project covers, who looks after the shared parts and what its recorded rules (CC&Rs) say.

  4. Tour with a partner agent

A partner agent in Salt Lake County can walk the area with you and pull recent sales of similar homes. When a home fits, the buying process and the art of the offer guides cover the next steps.

Quick answers

Under $700K in Taylorsville, answered

It reaches most of what the city has: ramblers, two-story homes and townhomes, since the cap sits well above the $433,800 typical value (ACS 2020-2024). The Homes for Sale page shows what is listed now.

About $266,000 above it. The U.S. Census puts the typical home value near $433,800 (ACS 2020-2024), which is what owners say their homes are worth and not a sale price.

No. Homes near the edge can sit in West Valley City, Kearns, West Jordan or Murray, even when the listing says Taylorsville. Check the city and the school boundary for the exact address. A partner agent checks both for you.

A few. Newer homes in Taylorsville are mostly townhomes, and one larger community is planned but not built. A plan on an agenda is not a home for sale, so check what is listed today.

Start with how you move through your week. The Bangerter edge is close to the highway interchanges, Bennion is the highest ground in the southwest, and the Redwood Road area holds the college and the old crossroads. A partner agent can tell you about a specific block.

Some. MVX runs along 4700 South, about every 15 minutes most of the day, and the city plan backs townhomes and homes near its stops. Ask which listings sit near a stop.
