The year in Richfield, month by month.

Richfield runs the largest Fourth of July celebration in Sevier County, and it spreads over several days around Main Street and Veterans Memorial Park. A typical year opens with a VFW pancake breakfast and a Liberty 5K and kids run in the morning, moves into an afternoon Main Street parade and a kiddie parade at the park, and fills the park with a band shell, food and craft booths through the day.

The finish is a fireworks show launched from the western hills at about 10 at night, visible across the valley floor. The Sunday before the Fourth, a patriotic program is staged at the Sevier Valley Center. Aurora and Salina hold their own smaller celebrations the same week, so the whole valley is busy, but Richfield is the hub.

The Sevier County Fair and Rodeo is the anchor of the Richfield year. It fills the first full week of August at the fairgrounds on 200 South, and in 2026 the run is August 3 to 8. General admission to the fair is free: livestock barns, exhibit halls, a carnival midway, vendor rows and live music, the classic county fair in full.

The ticketed draw is the rodeo, which takes the final two nights in the outdoor arena. It is the one week a year the whole county converges on Richfield, and lodging and the campground fill, so book early if you are traveling in. The county posts the schedule at sevier.utah.gov each year, and because the run shifts a few days annually, that is the place to confirm the exact nights.

Richfield is the natural staging town for the Paiute ATV Trail, and every September that role becomes an event. The Rocky Mountain ATV Jamboree bases in town, in 2026 running September 14 to 18, and fans registered riders out by day onto the Paiute system, the Gooseberry trails and the Great Western Trail, with guided routes graded from easy to technical.

In the evenings the jamboree comes back to town for a vendor expo, live music and a light parade of machines. It is the busiest week of the riding season here, and lodging fills well ahead, so plan the room before the ride. The Richfield Fall Festival closes out the warm season on Main Street, in 2026 on October 9, from late afternoon into the evening. The downtown blocks between 200 North and 100 South fill with local arts and crafts, food and drink vendors, community booths and family activities, an easy stroll from the restaurants and lodging along Main.

It is a smaller, hometown affair next to the August fair, and that is the point: a walkable autumn evening downtown rather than a full fairgrounds production. Entry is free. As with everything here, the date moves year to year, so confirm before you build a trip around it.

Richfield's signature holiday event is the Light Parade, held on Main Street each December and a town tradition for decades, run by the Richfield Area Chamber of Commerce. Ten blocks of Main Street go dark, and businesses, schools and community groups roll through with illuminated floats and decorated trucks and cars, with music and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

It is the one big night on the winter calendar, and it draws the surrounding towns into Richfield the way the fair does in August. The exact evening shifts from year to year, usually landing in early December, so check close to the date. The steadiest indoor calendar in Richfield runs at the Sevier Valley Center, on the Snow College Richfield campus on the west side of town. It pairs an 800 seat theatre with an arena that seats roughly 4,800, a scale unusual for a town this size, and it is built to switch between a touring concert, a trade show, a convention and a basketball floor.
