Life in Westwind Townhomes
Townhome living means more time for what matters.
Morning coffee on the patio. No mower to start, no sprinklers to check, no weekend list of yard chores. That is the quiet rhythm of townhome living at Westwind: the landscaping is handled, and your Saturdays belong to Hurricane instead of a wheelbarrow.
Midday errands are easy here. State Street is about five minutes away with grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. When you want a bigger adventure, Sand Hollow Reservoir is ten minutes east for boating and swimming, and the drive to Zion National Park is about 25 minutes. And with attached living, locking the door and heading out for a long weekend is as simple as it sounds.
Evening means the patio again or a walk through the community. Neighbors are close enough to know but the private patio gives you your own space. The breeze moves through the community in the late afternoon, cooling things off after a Hurricane summer day. It is a practical trade: a little less square footage, a lot less upkeep.
Community highlights
The highlight reel, all within minutes.
Low-maintenance living
The landscaping is handled, the exterior is maintained, and you do not spend your weekends behind a mower or a trimmer. More time for the things that brought you to Hurricane in the first place.
Hurricane City Park
About five minutes from the community, this park offers playgrounds, sports fields, picnic pavilions, and open grass. A solid everyday option for getting outside without driving far.
Hurricane Recreation Center
About five minutes away, the rec center has an indoor fitness area, a swimming pool, basketball courts, and programs for all ages. Easy to stay active year-round.
Sand Hollow Reservoir
About ten minutes east, Sand Hollow offers boating, swimming, fishing, and the state park's OHV area. A major recreation draw that makes townhome living in Hurricane an outdoor lifestyle choice.
Homes & layouts
Attached homes, built for easy living.
Westwind Townhomes is a newer attached-home community near the center of Hurricane, built new in 2025. The two-story layouts typically offer around 3 bedrooms and 2 to 3 baths, with private patios or small yards and attached garages. The shared-wall construction keeps the footprint efficient while giving each home its own entrance and outdoor space, and because the homes are new, the finishes and mechanicals are current rather than dated.
Interior square footage generally runs in the roughly 1,800 to 2,200 range, comfortable enough for full-time living but without the full upkeep of a house and a yard. Because the homes are attached and newly built, the utility bills tend to run lower than an older standalone house, and the common area landscaping means the exterior stays clean without you lifting a rake.
Attached living in Hurricane means the weekend belongs to you, not your lawn.
Trails & outdoors
More weekends on the trail, less time behind a mower.
Townhome living at Westwind means you swap yard work for trail time. The Hurricane area has some of the best outdoor access in Washington County, and with the maintenance handled, you can actually use it.
JEM Trail
About 10 minutes from the community, this popular singletrack offers flowing desert riding and hiking with red rock views. Suitable for mountain bikes and trail runners.
Gooseberry Mesa
Roughly 15 minutes away, Gooseberry Mesa is a world-class mountain bike destination with slickrock, technical sections, and panoramic views of Zion. Not for beginners.
Hurricane Rim & Gould's Rim
Local trail networks close to town offering hiking and biking loops with views over the Hurricane Valley. Great after-work options when you want a quick ride or hike.
Trail facts: BLM, local trail association pages. The wider outdoor picture is in the Hurricane guide.

Schools & education
Schools, by the facts.
Westwind Townhomes is served by the Washington County School District. From this central part of Hurricane, the K-5 elementary is typically Hurricane Elementary or Three Falls Elementary, with older grades feeding Hurricane Intermediate (grades 6-7), Hurricane Middle (grades 8-9), and Hurricane High (grades 10-12). Valley Academy, a K-8 charter in Hurricane, is an alternative. For higher education, Utah Tech University and Dixie Technical College are about 25 minutes away in St. George. Which specific schools serve a given address can change as the district adjusts boundaries for growth, so confirm the current assignment for any home you are serious about directly with the district. For independent school information, GreatSchools and Niche both publish data you can weigh for yourself.

What locals know
Notes from the community.
No listing photo tells you this part. After more than 20 years in Southern Utah, here is what I would tell a friend about townhome living in Hurricane.
-
Lock-and-leave lifestyle. Townhome living means you can head to Zion or Sand Hollow for a long weekend and lock the door behind you. No sprinklers to set, no lawn to worry about, no plants to water.
-
The evening breeze. The community catches a consistent breeze late in the day, especially in summer. It cuts through the heat and makes the patios the place to be come late afternoon.
-
Close to everything, quiet when you get home. State Street is minutes away, but the community sits off the main drag just enough that the traffic noise drops away. You get the convenience without the soundtrack.
-
Lower utility bills. Attached construction shares a wall or two with the neighbors, which keeps the summer and winter temps from hitting you the way they do in a standalone house. A practical bonus that shows up every month.

Newer attached townhomes, built new in 2025, with two-story layouts and about 3 bedrooms. Each unit typically has a private patio or small outdoor space and an attached garage, making it a lower-maintenance alternative to a single-family home.
The landscaping, common areas, and exterior maintenance are taken care of. You are responsible for the interior and your private patio. The arrangement means no lawn equipment, no weekend yard work, and no worrying about the roof or the siding.
As a newer build, these townhomes have generally been priced in the mid to high $500s. Pricing varies with size, layout, and finishes, but as attached homes they offer less land and less upkeep than a comparable single-family house in Hurricane.

Yes, and it is common. Timing the two is mostly a sequencing problem, and I cover the playbook in the buy and sell at once guide. Because I am dual-licensed, I can keep the sale, the search, and the financing on one desk.

These newer townhomes have generally been priced in the mid to high $500s, so pricing should reflect the lower maintenance tradeoff against a comparable single-family home in Hurricane, not a blended neighborhood average.
