Summerfest is the kickoff to northern Utah's art season, and in 2026 it runs Thursday June 18 through Saturday June 20. The organizer sets it at the Cache County Fairgrounds and Event Center, 490 South 500 West, with more than 170 juried fine artists and craftspeople, three dozen performers across indoor and outdoor stages, and around 30 food vendors. Published 2026 hours were 11 in the morning to 10 at night on Thursday and Friday, and 10 to 10 on Saturday. Admission is free.

The 2026 edition is the 42nd, which is worth knowing because Summerfest predates most of the valley's summer calendar. There is a plein air paintout and photography contest with cash prizes running alongside the booths. The fairgrounds address is the one to trust; some older listings still place the faire on Tabernacle Square downtown, where it was staged in earlier decades. The Cruise-In is billed as Utah's largest three day car show, and the scale is real. It began in 1982 with five organizers and now draws more than 1,000 vehicles, street rods, customs, restored classics, motorcycles and trucks, in front of upward of 30,000 spectators. It is run by the Cache Valley Cruising Association and held at the Cache County Fairgrounds. The show follows a fixed rule rather than a fixed date: the first Saturday in July plus the Thursday and Friday before it, which in 2026 is July 2 through 4.

Show admission was 15 dollars for anyone 18 and up in 2026, with 17 and under free. Beyond the show floor there is a poker run and an invitation only Top Rod of Utah judging, and the signature Saturday cruise runs about 40 miles up the canyon from Logan to Bear Lake. The county fair is one of the oldest annual events in the valley, and in 2026 it runs August 5 to 8 at the Cache County Fairgrounds and Event Center, 450 South 500 West. General fair admission is free: livestock barns, exhibit halls, a carnival midway and the food row. The draw that ticketing sites list separately is the PRCA rodeo, a full performance on each of the four nights, which is the ticketed part.

This is the same fairgrounds complex that hosts Summerfest and the Cruise-In earlier in the summer, so the address and the parking are familiar if you have been to either. For much of the year the biggest recurring event in Logan is an Aggie home game. Football fills six home dates each fall on Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium, from early September into November. The 2026 season is Utah State's first in the rebuilt Pac-12, and the published home slate includes Idaho State on September 5 and Troy on September 26 in nonconference play, then Washington State on October 10, Colorado State on October 31 and Fresno State on November 7. When the weather turns, basketball takes over the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, whose student section, the HURD, gives the building one of the loudest home-court reputations in the region.

The steadiest indoor calendar in Logan runs at the Ellen Eccles Theatre, the restored 1923 house at 43 South Main Street, programmed year round by the Cache Valley Center for the Arts with touring acts, ballet and concerts. Its resident large ensemble is the American Festival Chorus and Orchestra, founded in the summer of 2008 by Dr. Craig Jessop, a former director of the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. The chorus brings together more than 175 singers from within about a 90 mile radius, drawn from the community and from the Utah State University music department, and it programs a run of concerts across the year including a December Christmas program.

Every July and August the same stage, along with the neighboring Utah Theatre, becomes the home of the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre, which stages several fully produced works in repertory, so a single summer visit can catch two different shows on two nights. Logan's holiday season opens downtown on the Saturday after Thanksgiving with the Center Street Holiday Celebration. The evening centerpiece is the Twinkle Light Parade, followed by a tree lighting and fireworks, and the day fills out with a winter market, live music, food trucks and an outdoor ice rink at Laub Plaza. Through December the Parade of Gingerbread Homes turns historic downtown into a walk of handmade gingerbread structures built by local artists, schools and community groups. The American Festival Chorus and Orchestra also stages its Christmas concert most Decembers.

Winter is otherwise the valley's quiet stretch on the events front, and the honest reason to know that is the inversion, the gray lid that can settle on the valley floor for days.
