Moving to Nephi, Utah

Nephi is the main town of Juab County, with about 7,500 people. It sits on I-15 where Salt Creek Canyon opens onto the Juab Valley. The middle of town is about 5,130 feet high. The west side is lower, at about 5,060 feet. The east side climbs to about 5,490 feet at the canyon mouth. Mount Nebo, the tallest peak in the Wasatch Range at 11,928 feet, rises about 9 miles north-northeast.

Nephi has been here a long time. A survey party laid out the town in 1851 and called it Salt Creek, for the salty creek that runs through it. The county offices came to Nephi in 1882, and the town became a city in 1889. The plaster and gypsum mill at the canyon mouth started in 1889 too. The mine and mills ran for well over 100 years. Main Street was the old US-91 road, and 100 North is still called Track Street, for the railroad that ran down it in 1880.

The town is growing. The Census counted 4,733 people in 2000, 5,389 in 2010 and 6,443 in 2020. The 2025 estimate is about 7,500, up about 16 percent in five years. The city is about 5.6 square miles today. The city's own plan says big new growth will come through annexation. That means land outside the city line joins the city.

Buyers who look south from Utah County often end up here. Nephi is the first full town they reach, and homes tend to cost less than up north. The glance box at the top shows the typical home value. The cost is the drive. Provo is about 43 miles and 45 minutes north, and Salt Lake City is about 85 miles and 1 hour 25 minutes.

Three I-15 exits serve the town, and SR-132 crosses the freeway at the middle one. That road runs east through the canyon toward Sanpete County and west toward Delta. The healthcare topic covers the hospital in town, and the drive times topic has the longer trips.

Nephi has four real seasons. Summer days are hot and dry, and the nights cool off. Winter is cold, with snow that comes and goes. Spring warms slowly, and fall is clear and mild. The air is dry, like most of Utah.

Nephi has its own weather station, in town, about a fifth of a mile from the city offices. The numbers below are NOAA normals for 1991 to 2020 at that station.

Frost and the growing season

The last spring freeze usually comes about May 6. The first fall freeze usually comes about October 10. That leaves about 156 frost-free days. The USDA plant zone for ZIP code 84648 is 6a. If you plan a garden or an orchard, count on frost into early May.

About 148 nights a year drop to freezing or lower, and about 3 nights a year drop to 0°F or lower. A normal year brings about 13.7 inches of rain and melted snow. April is the wettest month at 1.6 inches, and July is the driest at 0.6 inches. Late summer can bring afternoon thunderstorms that build over Mount Nebo.

The station's daily record reaches back to 1904. It shows a low of 21 below zero on December 23, 1990. That is far from normal. I-15 stays the dependable winter road, while the Nebo Loop closes for the season. Fall color on the loop is the best show before that happens.

Nephi gets about 45 inches of snow in a normal year. That is a little less than Salt Lake City and far less than Midway. NOAA marks the snow figures as provisional. December and January are the snowiest months.

December brings about 12.5 inches, January about 10.9, and February about 8.1. Winter adds up to about 31.5 inches. Spring brings about 7.2 inches, and fall about 6.7. No snow falls from June through September.

Snow does not stay on the ground all winter. In a normal year, about 66 days have at least 1 inch on the ground. The biggest one-day snowfall on the station's record is 19 inches, on March 21, 1944.

The east side of town sits several hundred feet higher than the west side. For any home on that side, ask the owner what winter is like. The Nebo Loop in the mountains above town closes for the season, so check the Forest Service before you go.

Summers are hot and dry. A normal July afternoon reaches about 90°F. That is about 4 degrees cooler than Salt Lake City. The nights are the best part. A July night usually falls to about 61°F, so most homes cool off by morning.

Hot days do happen. A normal year has about 48 days at 90°F or hotter, and about 1 day at 100°F or hotter. July is also the driest month, with about half an inch of rain.

Some summer afternoons bring thunderstorms off Mount Nebo. The air quality topic covers what the record shows about air, and the outdoors topic covers the canyon.

Nephi sits in a breezy valley. The wind at the Nephi airport averages about 8.4 miles an hour over the year. The airport is about 2.4 miles northwest of the city offices. The numbers come from hourly readings between January 2025 and September 2026. That is a short record, so treat it as a first look.

Spring is the windiest season, at 8.8 miles an hour. June is the windiest month at 9.4, and November is the calmest at 7.2. The air is almost never dead still. Only about 1 hour in 100 is calm.

Strong gusts are not common. In spring, gusts of 30 miles an hour or more show up in about 3 hours out of every 100.

The wind runs up and down the valley. It blows from the south in about 27 hours out of every 100. North and south-southeast come next, at about 13 hours each.

An inversion is when cold air gets trapped in a valley under a lid of warmer air. Pollution builds up in the trapped air, and the valley turns gray. A storm usually clears it out.

Inversions can form in the Juab Valley on calm winter days. I have no measured count of inversion days for Nephi, so I will not guess at a number. The airport record does show a breezy valley, with calm air only about 1 hour in 100.

The EPA keeps a list of counties with air quality problems. Utah County, the place many Nephi workers drive to, is on that list. Juab County is not. Utah County also requires an emissions test for cars. Juab County does not.

Here is what I would do. Check the air on the state's air quality site the way you check the weather. If air matters to you, visit on a still winter morning before you buy.

Housing is the biggest cost in Nephi. The glance box at the top of this page shows the Census typical home value. That number is what owners say their homes are worth, averaged over five years. It is not a sale price. Few homes sell in a year, so one sale can swing a town number. Judge a price by recent sales of similar homes nearby.

The price gap with Utah County is what draws buyers south. The same money usually buys more house and more land here. The cost is the drive. Utah County jobs are a long way north, and bigger stores are too.

About half of Nephi workers get to work in under 15 minutes. About one in five drives 45 minutes or more. The economy topic has the commute numbers, and the shopping topic lists where the big-box stores are.

Sales tax is 7.05%, and Utah taxes a primary home on only 55% of its value. In 2026 the city also raised its own share of the property tax bill. The taxes topic has every rate.

Against Santaquin, Payson and the Provo area, you give up closeness to jobs and stores. You get more home and land for the money, and a quieter valley. Ask me for a side by side of the towns you are weighing, and I will run the numbers with you.

Three taxes matter most when you move here: sales tax, state income tax, and property tax. Here is each one, with the rates in effect in October 2026.

Nephi City raised its share in 2026

On August 18, 2026, the city council adopted a new city property tax rate. The city's own rate more than doubled, from 0.000504 to 0.001031. The money pays the bond on a new police station and one more patrol officer. The city's figures put the change at about 6% more on a home's total property tax bill. The city administrator put the average at about $11 a month for residents.

The city's share of the bill is still small. In 2024 it was about 5.8% of the whole bill. Most of the bill goes to the Juab School District and Juab County. With the city's increase, a Nephi home now runs a little above the county's 0.52% average. The county and the school district set their own 2026 rates, so your tax notice is the final word.

The primary home exemption

Utah gives a tax break to the home you live in. A primary home is taxed on 55% of its market value, up to one acre of land. Second homes and nightly rentals do not qualify, so they are taxed on the full value.

The Juab County Assessor's office is at 160 North Main Street in Nephi, and you can call it at 435-623-3425. From January 1, 2027, Utah law requires an application when a home changes owners. The county does not post its own deadline online, so ask the assessor how and when to apply.

Your tax bill has several parts

A home in Nephi pays several taxing groups, not just the city. They are Juab County, the Juab School District, the county fire district, and two water districts. The 0.52% figure adds up all those rates on a primary home, so treat it as an estimate.

Car fees depend on the age of the car. Juab County has no emissions test. The first 90 days topic has the registration steps.

The glance box at the top of this page shows the Census typical home value. Nephi is a small market, and often only a few homes are for sale at a time. A single sale can move an average. Look at a full year, not one month, and ask me for current numbers.

Four in five lived-in homes are owned by the people in them. The Census counts 1,755 of 2,195 as owner-occupied, about 80%. About 87% are single-family houses on their own lot. About 28% of homes have five or more bedrooms, and about 35% have three. No homes are held for seasonal use, so this is a year-round town. These are Census estimates for 2020 to 2024, and they carry a wide margin.

Nephi is an old town with a new edge. The median home was built in 1979. About 28% of homes date from before 1950. About one in five has been built since 2010. Older homes sit on the town grid, and newer ones sit toward the edges.

Lots are mid-sized. The county's records show a median lot of about a third of an acre. About 72% of homes sit on a quarter acre or more, and about 20% on half an acre or more. East of 400 East the median is a little bigger. The city's main zones ask for a quarter acre or 8,000 square feet, which is a little under a fifth of an acre.

Water comes first outside town

Inside city limits you are on city water. Many lots in the valley outside town use a private well and a septic tank. Some carry irrigation shares instead of city water. A share is a piece of ownership in an irrigation company. That changes the inspection, the loan, and the monthly cost.

On any lot outside town, get three answers in writing before you make an offer. Where does the drinking water come from? Which water rights or shares come with the land? What shape is the septic system in? Water on acreage is a title question. It belongs in the contract, not in a handshake.

Nephi began as a half-mile square in 1851, and the grid still sits at its center. Main Street runs north and south through town. About 81% of homes are east of Main, toward the mountain. The easiest way to read the town is by place, from the center outward.

The oldest homes are here, on lots with a median of about 0.28 acre. The downtown zone does not allow new single-family homes. In July 2026 the council rezoned one lot at 100 West and 200 North so a house could be built there.

Juab High School, Juab Junior High and Nebo View Elementary are on this side, and so is Canyon Hills Golf Course at the canyon mouth. It is the highest ground in town. The Wasatch fault traces and a fault study zone cross this side, so the before you buy topic is worth reading first. I-15 and Exit 225 run along the east edge, so check road noise on a lot near them.

Highway shops sit north of 1500 North, and the industrial park is by the tracks. Townhome clusters sit in the northwest and the northeast. The median lot is about 0.32 acre.
• South endToward Exit 222South of about 500 SouthRed Cliffs Elementary is on South Main. The Owens Corning plant is at the south edge of town. Newer shops and a hotel sit at the Exit 222 interchange. The median lot is about 0.30 acre.
• West sideOut to the airportWest of MainAbout 19% of homes sit west of Main. The airport is about 7 minutes from the city offices, and the sewer lagoons are northwest of town. The city's plan says the largest room to grow is west of Main. The ground is the lowest in town.
• County landValley acreageAround the edges of townFarms and acreage run out through the Juab Valley, with Mount Nebo views. Most of these homes use private wells and septic tanks. Wells, septic and irrigation shares decide what this land is worth, parcel by parcel.

Almost all of the land inside the town's lines is already used, so big new areas come through annexation. Annexation means land outside the city joins it. Because the market is small, what is for sale changes fast. Tell me what you are looking for, and I will pass it to the partner agent on the ground. You can also browse every Nephi home for sale.

Locations come from OpenStreetMap points and the city boundary, measured from the Nephi City Offices at 21 East 100 North. Lot sizes come from Juab County Assessor records (November 2025). Zones come from the Nephi City General Plan 2023. Drive times are by car from the city offices.

No large builder shows a Nephi community on its own website in 2026. No city record for 2026 names one either. New homes come from small local builders, from lots between older homes in town, and from a few townhome plats. If you want a new home, ask who is building now.

What is going up in 2026

On north Main, Bryce's Landing is a townhome plat of 46 homes. City records say the current owner is building them. In 2026 the owners asked the city for more homes on the remaining lots, and in the fall the city was weighing a rezone there. The council also talked about twin homes and duplexes in June. Nephi had one home in the 2026 Utah Valley Parade of Homes, built by Anderson Builders Utah.

A few single homes are going up on lots in the old grid, where the city has had to rezone a lot first. The general plan says growth has been east of Main. It says the largest room to grow is west of Main and beyond the current lines. In January 2026 the city approved an annexation on 400 West. In February a petition for land northwest of the airport, called Nebo South, reached the council. That is the proposed data-center land in the before you buy topic.

What a new home pays the city

A new home pays city impact fees for water, power and parks. An impact fee pays for the cost a new home adds to the city system. The 2026 schedule lists $6,067 for water and $2,075 for power for one single-family home. The parks fee is $2,802. I am not adding those up, because each lot is different.

On lots in a new subdivision, the electric hook-up is $500 for up to 200 amps. A sewer hook-up is $300. The city sets the water hook-up by what it costs. A natural gas meter is $1,500 when the city does the digging. A lot outside a subdivision pays a $4,000 sidewalk deposit, which comes back after inspection. Building permits are priced by the value of the home.

Buying new works differently from buying resale. You pick a lot, follow a build schedule, and sign the builder's contract. I am licensed in both real estate and lending, and on any one purchase I take one role. If I am your lender, I can line up a construction loan early so nothing surprises you at the framing stage.

Every town has its own list of things to check. Nephi has a few, and the fault and the soils lead the list. None of them should scare you off. They are the questions I would ask about any home here, and most have a free map you can look up for a single address.

The fault and the soils

The state has mapped traces of the Wasatch fault inside the city on the east side. The state also draws a fault study zone over part of the city. The nearest mapped trace is about 0.7 miles northeast of the City Offices, near 500 North and 500 East. A lot inside the study zone needs a fault study before anyone builds on it. Look up any east-side parcel before you offer.

The state has known about collapsible soils at Nephi since a 1982 study. Collapsible soil can settle when it gets wet. A 1990 state map names the shale above Nephi as a source. On newer east-side lots, ask for the soils report and the fill and compaction records. The state's online hazard layers do not map Nephi at all, and a blank map does not mean no hazard.

On county land, wells and septic are common. The valley is closed to new wells, so water has to come from an existing right. Check the right with the state and the septic with the health department. A data center is proposed for land northwest of the airport. In March 2026 the city paused that annexation until a developer is secured, and it says a public hearing will come before anything is approved. Through mid-September 2026 the council had not approved it. In July 2026 the council adopted noise limits for industrial and commercial building. If you are buying on the west or north edge, ask about it.

The best thing you can do before you shop for a home is get pre-approved. That means a lender checks your finances and tells you how much you can borrow. It shows you what you can spend, and it makes your offer stronger when the right home comes up. In a small market like Nephi, being ready the day the right home appears matters.

Not every home for sale here is a plain builder home. An older home on the grid can turn up condition items that affect the appraisal. An appraisal is the lender's check on what the home is worth. Acreage on a well and septic, or with water shares, takes its own loan steps. With few sales nearby, the appraisal matters even more. Newer homes and townhomes are more standard to finance, but check the completion status on any home still being built.

Conventional, FHA, VA and USDA loans can all work here. USDA has a map of eligible areas. On that map, all of Nephi sits outside the ineligible area, so USDA rural loans are open to buyers who qualify. Check any address on the map, because income limits and other rules decide the rest. Nephi has a real job base of its own. About 57 percent of Nephi workers have jobs inside the city. The hospital, the school district, factories and the I-15 exits all hire. The city's 2023 plan names health care, manufacturing, eating places and schools as the largest kinds of employers.

Juab County had 4,751 jobs covered by unemployment insurance in March 2026, and the average weekly pay was $950. The Utah average was $1,415. Utah County, just north, has far more jobs, and the traffic topic shows how many Nephi workers drive there.

Named employers

This is a list of employers that were operating in 2026, with the facts the record shows. It is not a ranking.

The 2023 plan also names National Vinyl Products, Horizon Metals and Mid-State Consultants in the industrial park. The plan says new business is gathering at the South Main exit, Exit 222. It lists a hotel, a fuel stop and an RV park there, and the city has approved four business parks.

A big farm and rail project

In November 2025 the Utah Inland Port Authority added about 2,300 acres northwest of Nephi to the Central Utah Agri-Park. The plan calls for plants that process food and crops, cold storage and farm technology, with rail on the Union Pacific line near I-15. A 27-acre rail yard near Nephi already runs. Its main user is CO Building Systems of Ephraim, which receives steel by a new spur off the main line.

Yes. Central Valley Medical Center is at 48 West 1500 North, about 4 minutes from the city offices. Its main phone line is 435-623-3000. The hospital has an emergency room open all day and night.

It began in March 1952 as the Juab County Hospital and has been a critical access hospital since 2004. That is a federal label for small rural hospitals, and it comes with a cap of 25 beds. Its emergency room has been a Level IV trauma center since April 2022. Trauma levels run from I, the most complete, down to V.

The hospital lists more than 25 services. They include surgery, labor and delivery, CT, MRI, X-ray, mammography, cardiology, orthopedics, oncology, behavioral health, physical therapy, a lab, and home health and hospice. Some specialty clinics may be visiting doctors, and their hours are not posted, so call ahead. Its clinics are the Nephi Medical Clinic, one in Santaquin and one in Fountain Green. The hospital's site lists no walk-in urgent care hours, so the emergency room is the answer in town after hours.

Juab School District serves Nephi, and its office is at 346 East 600 North. The district runs five schools and had 2,654 students in the fall 2025 count. Four of the five schools are in Nephi. The fifth, Mona Elementary, is in Mona.

Juab High is about 4 minutes from the city offices. The state school list shows no charter school in Juab County.

Grade splits and boundaries can change from year to year, so ask the district about any address you are serious about. Call 435-623-1940.

I do not rate schools, and I would be wary of anyone who says which one is best. Look at the boundaries and programs yourself. The links below go to the district and to independent sites.

No. Nephi has no college of its own. The nearest campuses are in two directions, and each is a real drive.

Snow College is in Ephraim, about 43 minutes away. It also has a campus in Richfield. Brigham Young University in Provo is about 45 minutes north, and Utah Valley University in Orem is a little farther, about 47. A daily drive that long works best with a few days on campus each week or with online classes.

Traffic in Nephi is light. Main Street is State Route 28, and it is also the business loop for I-15. It is the old US-91 road. Most trips inside town take a few minutes.

Three I-15 exits serve the town. Exit 222 is at the south end, by South Main. Exit 225 is in the center, on 100 North, which is State Route 132. Exit 228 is at the north end. Exit 225 is about 3 minutes from the city offices. The freeway runs along the east side of town, between the houses and the mountain.

How people get to work

The Census counted 3,421 Nephi workers for 2020 to 2024. Of those, 2,758 drove alone and 415 carpooled. No one reported riding public transportation. About 1 in 18 worked from home.

About half of Nephi commuters get to work in under 15 minutes. About 1 in 5 travels 45 minutes or more. About 36 percent of workers have a job in another Utah county, and Utah County is the obvious one. The long drives are the run up I-15.

Road work to know about

A state project began in May 2026 to widen State Route 132 in Nephi Canyon, from about mile post 38 to the Nebo Loop road. It adds passing room and wider shoulders. See the state project page for the latest.

The slow part of a commute is north of the county line, on I-15 through Utah County. Rush hour and winter storms add time there.

No. Juab County has no fixed-route public transportation, and the Census found no Nephi commuters who ride transit. Plan on a car for daily life.

The nearest bus on the record is UTA Route 805, a commuter route with a stop in Santaquin, about 22 minutes away. Check the current schedule before you rely on it.

Nephi has a small airport, but no airline flies there. J. Randy McKnight Nephi Municipal Airport is a city-owned field for private planes at 1915 North Airport Road, about 7 minutes from the city offices. It has one paved runway, 6,300 feet long, and it sells jet fuel and aviation gas all day and night by card. Glider and skydiving events use it.

For airline flights, Provo Airport is about 45 minutes north. Allegiant, American and Breeze fly from there. Salt Lake City International is the full-service airport, about an hour and a half away.

Drive times are map estimates from the city offices in normal weather. Winter storms and rush hour add time.

Nephi is on the east edge of its valley, with I-15 beside town and Mount Nebo beyond it. Every long trip north starts at one of the three exits. Mona, Santaquin and Payson are on the way to Provo.

Nephi City runs most of the setup. It provides power, natural gas, water, sewer and garbage, and it bills them on one account. City gas is rare in Utah. The state lists only five towns with their own gas systems, and Nephi is one. Call the city office at 435-623-0822.

The owner holds the account. Nephi City does not let renters sign up for utilities, and a landlord may have the bill mailed to a tenant with a landlord agreement. A refundable $175 deposit is due with the application. The city offers an equal payment plan, which spreads the year into 12 equal bills after 12 months at the same address.

There is no city system for lawn water. Nephi has no secondary or pressurized irrigation. Some older lots carry irrigation shares held outside the city, so confirm that the shares come with the home. Outdoor watering is not allowed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Homes on county land may use a private well and septic system. The Central Utah Public Health Department handles septic permits, at 160 North Main in Nephi, 435-623-0696.

Start with Nephi City for service. The city office is at 21 East 100 North. It is open Monday to Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon. The taxes topic has the property tax side of the city's costs.

Internet in Nephi is strong for a town this size. The state broadband map lists providers at six points in and around town. CentraCom, a regional company, is the main one.

Fiber is a glass cable that carries internet very fast. CentraCom fiber showed at all six points. They run from the city offices to the north, south, east, west and northwest edges. CentraCom cable showed at four. CenturyLink phone-line internet showed at all six.

Fixed wireless is home internet by radio signal. CentraCom offers it at all six points, and Verizon and T-Mobile at most. Satellite service from Starlink, HughesNet and Viasat showed at every point. The state map shows what a company reports, not what a given house can order.

Moving day is only the start. Here is the short list for your first 90 days in Nephi. The county offices are in Nephi, and most keep a four-day week.

1. Turn on the utilitiesApply with Nephi City for power, gas, water, sewer and garbage, with the refundable $175 deposit. The owner holds the account. Do this a week before you move in.
2. Get your Utah driver licenseThe office is at 1143 East Highway 132. It is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and closed from noon to 1. Call 801-965-4437 for an appointment. Bring proof of who you are, your Social Security number and proof of your Utah address.
3. Register your carUtah gives you 60 days after you set up a permanent home. The motor vehicle office is in the Juab County Treasurer's Office at 160 North Main. A car titled in Utah for the first time needs a quick VIN check, unless it is new.
4. Skip the emissions testJuab County does not require one. Utah County, to the north, does.
5. Claim the primary home tax breakA primary home is taxed on 55 percent of its value. Apply with the Juab County Assessor at 160 North Main, Office 112, 435-623-3425. The county does not post its own deadline, so ask the office.

Nephi has one full grocery store, plus hardware, dollar stores, auto parts, a pharmacy and fuel. For a second supermarket, a Walmart or a warehouse club, you drive up I-15. Named restaurants are in the restaurants topic.

Fuel stops include Maverik, 7-Eleven, Chevron, Good 2 Go, Harts and a Pilot Travel Center.

The big runs

Santaquin has a Macey's grocery, about 22 minutes north. It is a Terrel's-group store, so it is part of the same 2026 deal. It has no big-box store. Payson has the nearest Walmart Supercenter. Spanish Fork has Costco, Target and Lowe's. Provo has Home Depot and the Provo Towne Centre mall.

The Walmart time is to the store itself. The other times are to the center of each town, so add a few minutes to reach the store.

Nephi sits at the foot of the tallest mountain in the Wasatch Range. Mount Nebo rises to 11,928 feet at its north peak, and the summit is about 9 miles north-northeast of town. A scenic road climbs into the forest from the edge of town, and a canyon with a creek opens on the east side. Here are the places to know first.

The Nebo Loop closes in winter. Nephi City says the closure runs from late October through June or July, and the date changes with the snow. Then the byway becomes a snowmobile route. Parts of it are groomed from December through March, and the trailheads are in Salt Creek Canyon. It is avalanche country with few services.

The south end leaves SR-132 about 5 miles east of Exit 225. The north end is in Payson, where the Forest Service sends drivers from I-15 Exit 248. Bear Canyon Campground, also on the byway, has fire rings, flush toilets, and nature trails. The Spanish Fork Ranger District runs the forest and answers questions at 801-798-3571.

No national park sits near Nephi. The nearest one is Capitol Reef, about 140 miles away. The city finder's map puts it at about 2 hours 30 minutes. Plan it as an overnight trip.

What Nephi has is public land of other kinds. Mount Nebo and the Nebo Loop are national forest. Little Sahara is run by the Bureau of Land Management, or BLM. Yuba is a state park.

There is no ski area in Juab County. The nearest lift-served area is Sundance Mountain Resort in Provo Canyon, about an hour from the City Offices. It usually opens in December, when the snow allows.

The big Cottonwood Canyon and Park City resorts are about an hour and a half to an hour and three quarters away. Snowbasin is a little over two hours.

Winter on Mount Nebo is for snowmobiles and snowshoes. Snow closes the Nebo Loop to cars, and the groomed snowmobile season runs from December through March. The outdoor recreation topic has the details.

Nephi has one course, and the city owns and runs it. Canyon Hills Golf Course is a 9 hole, par 36 course at the mouth of Salt Creek Canyon. It sits on SR-132 just east of I-15 Exit 225, about 4 minutes from the City Offices.

The city's plan for 2026 and 2027 lists new golf equipment and a better maintenance shed. It also lists a land exchange for a possible second nine holes. That is only a possibility today.

Nephi's restaurants sit along Main Street between its freeway exits. Near the south exit are Costa Vida, Denny's, the coffee drive-thru, and the steakhouse. East 100 North, toward the middle exit, has a Wendy's and an Arby's. North Main near the grocery store has a Chinese restaurant and a pizza chain. Downtown Main Street has a coffee house, an Indian restaurant, and a Mexican restaurant.

Dinner hours run short. The steakhouse closes at 8:30 p.m., and most local places close by 9.

The Vine Bluff Cemetery roads are noted on the city's trails page as the most scenic place to walk in town. A trail along the south side of 100 North ties the golf course to the city sidewalks. Juab County tourism names Yuba, Little Sahara, Devil's Kitchen, and the Joy ghost town as places for stargazing.

For a bigger movie theater, a mall, or a concert hall, the nearest choices are in Utah Valley. Provo is about 45 minutes north, and the nearby cities topic lists the drives.

Nephi's arts are small and home grown. The town has a pioneer museum, a community orchestra, and a rich bit of local history. It has no gallery district and no confirmed community theater company. For a big stage, go to Provo.

Nephi's big week is the Ute Stampede, usually the second week of July, Wednesday to Saturday. It is a pro rodeo at the Juab County Rodeo Arena, 410 W Center Street. The rodeo's own history says its first pro rodeo was in 1935. In 2026 it was the 92nd, and it ran July 8 to 11.

Each night has a rodeo and a carnival at the fairgrounds. The 2026 program began with bull riding on Wednesday. Thursday was family night, and Friday honored the military and first responders. Saturday was the championship night.

Two parades run down Main Street, a Heritage and Western Parade on Friday and the Mammoth Parade on Saturday. Both start at the city park. Saturday also has a Lions Club breakfast, a 5K, a golf tournament at Canyon Hills, a craft show, and a car show.

The Juab County Fair usually runs at the end of July into August. In 2026 it was July 31 and August 1, with exhibits, livestock shows, and a rodeo. A demolition derby followed on August 8. The fairgrounds also host concerts, dirt bike races, and arena cross through the summer.

In winter, Illuminate the Night is held on the first Saturday after Thanksgiving. The county tree and a festival of trees come first. Then the lights go on at Nephi City Park, with Santa, a hayride, and hot chocolate.
