Las Hurdes is a small townhome community on two plats off West Las Hurdes Drive, so an empty page here is not unusual for a community this small. When one lists, it shows up on the St. George homes for sale page.
Las Hurdes is a small community in the Sunbrook area, on two plats from 2003 and 2006, between the golf club and the Santa Clara River Trail. The site watches the MLS for you and emails you when one lists.

Life in Las Hurdes
A quiet corner of the Sunbrook area
In shortThe Sunbrook Golf Club and Dixie Drive are a short drive away, and the river trail is close by. The attached homes sit on a settled plat from the 2000s (a plat is the recorded map of the lots). They come with less upkeep than the single-family subdivisions around them.
Las Hurdes is a recorded townhome plat off West Las Hurdes Drive, tucked into the Sunbrook area on the west side of St. George. The original subdivision was recorded with Washington County in 2003. An adjoining townhome phase, Las Hurdes TH, followed in 2006, which is why you will see two related plats sharing the name.
The setting is the main draw. Sunbrook Golf Club is a short drive away off Dixie Drive, and the paved Santa Clara River Trail runs right past the club. That puts a paved walk-or-bike route a few minutes from home. Dixie Drive is the main road out, and it links back to I-15 and the rest of St. George in a few minutes.
Las Hurdes is a townhome community, so you give up yard work and take on shared walls and a smaller home, as with most townhomes in St. George. It is not a golf-course subdivision itself, but it is close enough to one that the setting feels like one.
Community highlights
What sets this corner of Sunbrook apart
Four things set this part of St. George apart. A paved river trail is a few minutes away, and a golf club is close by. One elementary school serves the area, and Dixie Drive and I-15 are a short, direct drive.
The Santa Clara River Trail, close by
The paved trail winds beneath Dixie Drive and past the Sunbrook Golf Club. It is close enough to Las Hurdes that you can drive or ride to it in a few minutes.
Sunbrook Golf Club nearby
The city-owned course at 2366 W Sunbrook Drive has three nine-hole layouts. It is a short drive from Las Hurdes. It is not a lot on the fairway, but it shapes the neighborhood's name and feel.
One elementary school for the area
Sunset Elementary, grades K-5, serves this part of St. George, and its students go on to the Snow Canyon group of schools.
Dixie Drive to I-15, ~5 min
Dixie Drive connects straight to the I-15 Exit 5 interchange. The rest of St. George, Santa Clara, and Ivins are all a short, direct drive from the community.

Homes & floor plans
Attached homes on a settled plat
Las Hurdes is an attached townhome community built across two recorded plats in the 2000s. The units include two-story homes with an attached garage, and some plans add a basement level. Square footage and layout vary more than in a community built from one plan. I look at each listing's own plan instead of assuming one floor plan covers the whole community.
The community is small and every home is attached, so a handful of homes for sale can swing what looks like the going price. I would rather pull the recent sales and the homes for sale right now than publish a number here that goes stale the next time a unit closes.
On a small plat where every home is a townhome, compare against the right handful of units, not a citywide average.
Trails & outdoors
A river trail close to home
The Santa Clara River Trail is the highlight. This paved, multi-use path runs beneath Dixie Drive and past the Sunbrook Golf Club. It then continues toward Confluence Park, where it meets the longer Virgin River Trail. From Las Hurdes it is a short drive or ride to get on the path.
Santa Clara River Trail (paved, easy)
A flat, paved path that passes the Sunbrook Golf Club and continues toward Blake Memorial Park and Mathis Park. Once you are on it, you can walk, run, or ride without needing a car.
Virgin River Trail, via Confluence Park
The Santa Clara path connects to the Virgin River Trail at Confluence Park, opening up nearly 12 miles of paved trail along the Virgin River for a longer ride.
Sunbrook Golf Club
The city-owned course at 2366 W Sunbrook Drive offers three nine-hole layouts, a short drive from Las Hurdes off Dixie Drive.
Bearclaw Poppy Trail (mountain bike)
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) runs the Bearclaw Poppy system, reached from the Bloomington trailhead off Navajo Drive or the Green Valley side off Dixie Drive. It is a short drive south for singletrack riding (a narrow trail wide enough for one bike).
Trail routes come from St. George City's trail pages and BLM trail information. The wider outdoor picture for St. George is in the St. George guide.

Schools & education
Schools, by the facts
Las Hurdes is part of the Washington County School District. Sunset Elementary (grades K-5) generally serves the area. In this district, intermediate schools cover grades 6-7, middle schools grades 8-9, and high schools grades 10-12.
The district's boundary maps put both Las Hurdes plats in the Snow Canyon group: Lava Ridge Intermediate, Snow Canyon Middle, and Snow Canyon High. For any home you are serious about, check the current boundary and school with the district itself, not this page.
I cover the bigger education picture for St. George in the St. George guide.
Two plats, one name
Why the county shows two Las Hurdes
Washington County's plat records show two separate filings under the Las Hurdes name. The original Las Hurdes subdivision was recorded in September 2003. A second, smaller filing, Las Hurdes TH, was recorded in January 2006. The "TH" filing is the townhome phase, added a few years after the first plat.
For a buyer or seller, this matters more than it sounds. A listing that says "Las Hurdes" could sit on either plat, and the two were recorded three years apart. That can show up as small differences in unit layout, how nicely a unit is finished, or construction detail between the earlier and later buildings. Ask about it rather than assume every unit came from the same phase.
Before I compare a unit with another Las Hurdes listing, I check which plat it sits on. I would separate any multi-phase community the same way before pricing a home.

What locals know
The details I would slow down and check
Las Hurdes is a small community where every home is a townhome, so the small print matters more than it would in a bigger subdivision. These are the things I would walk a friend through before they get attached to a specific unit.
Ask which plat the unit sits on
The original 2003 plat and the 2006 townhome phase are both called Las Hurdes. Check which one you are looking at, so you do not compare apples to oranges.
Check the school group by address
Sunset Elementary serves the area, and the boundary maps send its students here to the Snow Canyon schools. I still check it street by street.
The trail is a real plus, not sales copy
The Santa Clara River Trail really does pass Sunbrook, so I check exactly how a specific unit connects to it before I call it a feature.
Few homes means one sale can shift the numbers
With so few units in the community, one new listing or one closed sale can shift what looks like the going price. I pull the live numbers instead of quoting a stale figure.

Las Hurdes is an attached townhome community, built in the 2000s. Unit sizes and layouts vary. Some plans run two stories with a garage, and others add a basement level. I can pull the exact mix of floor plans and what has sold recently from the live MLS.

Yes. The paved Santa Clara River Trail runs right past the Sunbrook Golf Club, a short drive from Las Hurdes off Dixie Drive. It continues southeast toward Confluence Park and the Virgin River Trail. Once you reach it, it is a real walk-or-bike trail, not just a nearby park.
St. George townhome prices depend on unit size, how nicely the unit is finished, and when it last sold. Ask me what is for sale in Las Hurdes right now. I can also pull recent sales for comparison.

When you list with me, I feature your home on MovingUtah where it fits best. It shows first on the St. George listings and on this Las Hurdes page, where buyers are already looking. The get featured page explains how it works. If you are thinking about selling, I would be glad to talk it through with you.
