Verde Ridge is a recorded subdivision on Verde Ridge Road, in the part of southern St. George that sits just north of Bloomington. The plat was recorded with Washington County in November 1995, and the streets built out through the mid-to-late 1990s, which means you are looking at an established neighborhood with mature landscaping rather than a subdivision still filling in.
The geography is straightforward once you know it: Southgate Golf Course is about a 4-minute drive and Tonaquint Park about 3, and the Bloomington neighborhood, with its own country club and park, sits a short drive south. Man O War Road connects the area to Bloomington, and Veterans Memorial Highway runs the corridor north toward I-15.
It is a quieter, settled part of town. You will not find new construction signs here, and that is the point for a lot of buyers: mature trees, an established feel, and a location that has already proven itself rather than one still being built out.

The City of St. George's 18-hole municipal course on Tonaquint Drive is a short drive from Verde Ridge Road. It is city-owned, so green fees and tee-time policy follow the municipal course, not a private club.
Tonaquint Park, ~3 min
A city park with a nature center, a disc golf course, and open grass, a short drive northwest of the neighborhood. The Santa Clara River Trail runs a paved path near the park if you want to walk or bike instead of drive.
Bloomington Country Club, ~6 min
Bloomington's golf course and country club sit a short drive south by way of Man O War Road, giving Verde Ridge a second course option in addition to Southgate.
A settled, built-out plat

1990s ramblers on quarter-acre lots.
Verde Ridge is a single-family subdivision, recorded with Washington County in November 1995 under the plat name Verde Ridge. The homes I have found on record here are mostly single-story ramblers, typically in the neighborhood of 2,200 to 2,400 square feet on lots running around a quarter acre, with attached two- to three-car garages. Exteriors follow the stucco-and-tile look common to St. George subdivisions from that era.
Because it is a fully built-out, mid-1990s plat, there is no active builder or new-construction phase to point to here. What you are shopping is resale inventory: homes that have had one or more owners since the original build, in varying states of updating. That is a different search than a new-construction subdivision, and I would rather tell you that plainly than dress up a resale market as something it is not.
A 1995 plat means mature trees and settled streets, not a construction zone.
Trails & outdoors
The Santa Clara River Trail is the closest draw.
The paved Santa Clara River Trail runs along the river near Tonaquint Park, a few minutes from Verde Ridge, and connects into the larger St. George trail network for walkers, joggers, and cyclists. Two municipal golf courses sit within a short drive if a round is more your outdoor time than a trail.

Verde Ridge is part of the Washington County School District. Based on the district's current elementary attendance-boundary map, Verde Ridge falls inside the Bloomington Elementary area (grades K-5, serving the Bloomington neighborhood of St. George). Bloomington Elementary is a split-feeder school in the district's system, meaning it can lead to either the Dixie cone (Tonaquint Intermediate, Dixie Middle, Dixie High) or the Desert Hills cone (Sunrise Ridge Intermediate, Desert Hills Middle, Desert Hills High) depending on the specific sub-boundary.
One MLS record for a Verde Ridge address lists Bloomington Hills Elementary instead, a separate school on East Brigham Road that is not the same school as Bloomington Elementary despite the similar name. Because the two sources do not agree and district boundaries can shift, confirm the current assignment for any specific address directly with Washington County School District before you rely on it. For independent school information, GreatSchools and Niche both publish data you can weigh for yourself. Utah Tech University is a short drive across town.

Reading the recorded plat
One plat, one name, no phases.
Some St. George subdivisions carry a shared name across several phases recorded years apart, or fold smaller sub-communities under one umbrella brand. Verde Ridge is not that. Washington County's subdivision records show a single recorded plat named Verde Ridge, filed November 20, 1995, with no additional phases on record. What you see on the ground, roughly 38 lots on Verde Ridge Road, is the whole subdivision as originally platted.
That matters for comps and for expectations. You are not going to find a "Verde Ridge Phase 2" built five or ten years later with a different product type, and you are not buying into a master-planned community with amenities layered on after the fact. It is one plat, built out once, in the mid-to-late 1990s, on quarter-acre lots in an already-established part of St. George.
The trade-off of an older, single-phase plat like this is straightforward: you give up the newest finishes and floor plans in exchange for mature landscaping, a settled street, and a location inside the Bloomington corridor that is not going to see a construction crew move in next door.

This is a resale market, not a new-construction one. With a 1995 plat and no additional phases, every home here has at least one prior owner. Budget for updates the way you would with any 1990s-era house.

You get two golf courses for the price of one location. Southgate and Bloomington Country Club are both a short drive, so you are not locked into a single course the way some golf-adjacent subdivisions are.

The nearest full grocery is a real drive, not a quick trip. Smith's on Bluff Street runs about nine minutes. There is a closer convenience option on Man O War Road, but plan the bigger shopping trip accordingly.
